Our Story

MPG Genetics is owned by the Crabtree family. For more than 20 years they have been looking to make a lasting change to the way we feed livestock.

Unique germplasm, from unique people.

The base on which our genetic program is built dates back three decades, starting with a program purchased by the Crabtree’s from John Rucker. During their time owning a silage-first seed brand, they invested heavily in building up that genetic base, making new inbreds and purchasing additional germplasm along the way. Now out of the branded sales business, the Crabtree’s are all-in on bringing unique germplasm to the market. We aren’t your typical genetic provider. Our knowledge of the livestock industry, ruminant nutrition, and corn breeding give us the ability to help you build out a silage or livestock-first lineup for your company.
